Photos
A simple and direct text ad can do the trick but a great photo can really expedite the process getting your animal the exposure they deserve. In a large group of animals on the web you need to put your best foot forward in a very short amount of time. To entice a potential customer to make the critical e-mail or phone call to inquire further use a good photo with a clean animal and a clean background. If you don’t have a good photo you still have some options!
Free Angus Photos Archive
If the animal for sale is from popular bloodlines, in most cases, it is possible to find photos of sires, granddams, and etc. using the Angus Photos archive. In the archive you can sign up to download photos of popular sires and dams for free!
Clip Art
People scan ads by site and don’t necessarily read all of the text. If you don’t have a photo, feel free to use clip art from the Angus Association to communicate that you have bulls, heifers, or etc. for sale.
Farm Logo
Don’t be afraid to use your farm logo. Your logo is your brand, and represents you and your farm or ranch.
Pick a catchy title
You want your ad to stand out from the crowd. Try to pick a short phrase that'll catch people's attention and make them want to look at your animal in more detail. Don't just enter something like Angus Bull because that could describe just about every bull on the site. List a popular sire's name, or some other phrase that someone could search for on google.
Respond fast & friendly!
Let’s face it, tire kickers can be a real hassle. Using an answering machine to screen calls is mighty tempting but not the most professional approach. Use a phone number that you answer on a regular basis. The same goes for your e-mail! If you have animals posted online you are going to get e-mails. If you wait a week to answer them your “potential customer” is likely to become someone else’s “customer”.
Fill in your Member Profile
When you sign up to post an ad at angussales.com you are required to register. Fill out the profile form completely for the best results. Your profile will give customers the ability to find you on a Google maps, view your web site and do a little research so they know they are dealing with a professional. Also, don’t be shy, add a logo or photo to your profile so every ad you post can be easily recognized!
Link to your web site
We allow you to include a link to a page with more information for each ad. We recommend that you use this to link directly to a farm website or a page which has information about who you are as a seller. Even if you don't have your own web page, you can use this link to link to a youtube video, youtube channel or a flickr.com photo album with more pictures of your additional cattle or items than available on the ad.
